This tough and long-lasting tatami mat provides exceptional board stability.
It's also foldable on both sides, making storage space-saving and in-demand. It's also highly regarded as a high-quality shogi board mat.

Dimensions: 4mm thick x 63cm wide x 39.8cm long, mainly for 2-sun (approximately 6cm) shogi boards.
Folded size: 340mm wide.

This series of works is likely the first in Japan to use artificial tatami for shogi mats. Until now, the material was igusa (rush grass), which was prone to decay and discoloration, so it wasn't exceptionally sought-after. Therefore, tatami mats for shogi boards are in short supply. Moreover, I learned that there is a demand for such large sizes. This work was created in response to requests, making it foldable and space-saving.
It took a lot of time and repeated trial and error to acquire to this point. Of course, it's handmade, including the tatami fabric.
